Team-Building & Leadership Training With Horses

Rich Hallabrin - Communications Manager UPS
This was an excellent workshop, it takes leadership and boils it down to basic levels of understanding. I realized I am not always “consistent” with maintaining my confidence and I must be constant in a leadership role. The thing that will be most helpful in my interactions with others, is knowing that no two horses or people are alike and different leadership styles are essential. I will now adapt my leadership style to fit the person I am working with and will no longer judge someone simply from observation and assumptions. The instructor was outstanding, he was friendly, cordial and able to relate every activity to the workplace.

Karen Saghini - Public Relations Supervisor
This workshop is a great idea, I would certainly recommend it to others. It was great fun and really made me think about how I communicate to get a goal accomplished. I plan to really pay more attention to the way people respond to me based on non-verbal communication. Body language is extremely important and a very powerful way to communicate. If you act in a confident way people will respond well to what you put out there. Everyone is constantly judging your body language when you don't even know it. Non-verbal communication is more important than we think. I will definitely listen and respond to other's communication style.

Walid Wakim - Consulting Systems Engineeer - Cisco Systems Inc.
On a scale of 1-10 I would rate the instructor and assistants an 11! This was a very effective and well laid out workshop, I would recommend it to anyone. I thought the use of horses was a great way to demonstrate effective leadership. Communication is more about action than words, I learned how to really carry myself correctly, so that I can be more effective as a leader.

S. B. - Public Relations Manager
This workshop made me assess personal behaviors and gave me techniques to try at work. I think it will be useful with individual coaching and counseling. The instructor was very effective in communicating how you can establish leadership in subtle ways. I realized that assertiveness can present itself in different ways to have effective outcomes. I think I can use this by being more confident and deliberate, but not forgetting to read the situation first.

Larry McMahon - Consulting Engineer Manager
I was struck by the relentless attention that horses pay to you and the consistency of what they expect from a leader. This made me intensely aware of my demeanor, my intentions and focus. This information obviously translates into the human realm. The subtle impact of maintaining consistent focus in mind and body to communicate confidence and sincerity will be most helpful in my interactions with others. I will certainly incorporate my new awareness of non-verbal communication in the work environment. John, my instructor was very good, very insightful on horses and very honest and direct.

J.M. - The Retail Store, public relations specialist
Team Building with Horses helped me recognize leadership qualities in other people by observation of their body language and I will spend more time observing how people prefer to be communicated with. It was an awesome workshop, I rate the instructor a 10! He had a great understanding of horse and human behavior. All of the assistants were enthusiastic and great to work with - real team players.

Bob Godlewski - Manager National Media Relations UPS
I had no idea how important body language is and its importance in non-verbal communications. It can actually transcend verbal instructions. Regarding my interactions with others, I realized that people are sizing me up long before I attempt to establish any authority. This is the best team-building activity we have ever done! It got people outside their comfort zones. It also allowed followers in our group to practice leadership skills. I had a great time with an excellent instructor.

N. B. - Manager National Media Relations UPS
This was a fantastic education that was provocative as well as informative. I give top rates to the instructor and assistants. I learned how you can lead without being vocal, because body language is a lot more important than you might think. I plan to incorporate all of it at work. I need to take the time to read the signals.

I thought this workshop was a very positive and educational experience. I rate the instructor and assistants a 10! I was amazed how my confidence and the way I walk can work to help in everyday business. I rarely realize how I walk, now that I know how it can make a difference is something I will be more conscious of.

The observation skills and sensitivity of horses really amazed me. It alerted me to be more aware of how I project outward, and how I might be sending signals without really knowing it. I feel this will help be greatly in interactions with my fellow workers. All in all, this was a positive experience for me and I enjoyed it. The instructors were very good and I would recommend this workshop to others.

Colby Barth - Consulting Systems Engineer
This workshop was a humbling, but positive experience for me. I intend to be more aware of how my posture, attitude, demeanor, etc. effects or influences others. The thing that impacted me the most was the realization that the horse is a “mirror” for how I am being and that body language and non-verbal communication can have a big impact on others. The assistants were good, positive influences that were a great help to me. The word that best describes my instructor is “visionary”.

B. H. - Engineer
I think the thing that impacted me the most was realizing that for man and horse to be a team, I have to establish myself as a leader. The piece of information that is going to be most helpful in my interactions with others is learning to observe the reflection of myself in other beings. This workshop was a positive experience for me and the instructor was very good.
